First built in 1780 and expanded in 1853 to its current size, the inn has long been noted for its hospitality, hosting such celebrities as Eleanor Roosevelt and Efraim Zimbalist, Sr. Architectural features include wraparound verandahs on the first and second stories, original pine floors, a rustic den with stone fireplace, a comfortable parlor, a spacious dining room, and a solarium. A deck, next to the old barn, which was once the town livery stable, overlooks a wide trout stream. Enjoy the complimentary breakfast, as well as early morning pre breakfast coffee, tea, and coffeecake. There are also freshly baked brownies, cookies, and cakes.
