Property Description

This circa 1899, three story raised French cottage is built of brick and cypress and is situated on eleven acres of ancient live oaks and fragrant magnolias. Six fireplaces, usable antiques, and a 64 foot porch with swings aid relaxation. A long sidewalk extends from the front of the inn to "Friendship, Too," a magnificent live oak that's registered with the Live Oak Society. Open since 1986, Red Creek Inn was the Mississippi Gulf Coast's first bed and breakfast. It has been featured in many national and local publications. The roomy parlor has a wood burning fireplace at each end. There's a 1930's Philco wooden radio, with overseas band, an Edison Victrola, and an Eastlake Victorian Organ. A framed and matted antique postcard collection adds to the homey feel. A second TV room is the screened back porch, with rattan furniture and ceiling fan. Wicker rocking chairs and traditional wooden swings may be found on the front porch.
