Property Description

The Shiretown Inn's accommodations are comprised of the unique rooms and suites in two historic whaling homes, The Captain Mayberry House and the Captain Worth House built in 1795. Modern amenities complement original architectural detail, providing guests with a historic environment surrounded by modern conveniences and lush gardens. During the spring, summer, and fall months, a delicious continental breakfast is served each morning in the restaurant terrace area and outside garden patio. Each afternoon specialty teas are served in the Greenhouse with award winning homemade cookies and freshly squeezed lemonade. A new private hot tub garden provides outside relaxation and solace and is available to all guests by appointment. Open from May to October, the restaurant, Ciao Bella, is well known for outstanding cuisine and fine service. With seating on the enclosed garden terrace or in the dining room, it is a wonderful place to enjoy dinner with family and friends. After dinner, go to the Hideaway Pub for an excellent selection of fine liquors, blended drinks and some smooth jazz. Guests are invited to experience warm hospitality, a relaxed environment, and lovely accommodations.
