Property Description

Kelly Place Retreat is both an outdoor educational center and unique bed and breakfast located in the heart of the Four Corners, just 10 miles west of Cortez, Colorado in red rock McElmo Canyon. It's also a perfect location for a family reunion, wedding or executive retreat. The Lodge is an adobe style building built as an oasis on the edge of the desert with orchards, gardens, and courtyards at the base of the Sleeping Ute Mountain, amongst the ancient Indian ruins. There are over 25 documented Anasazi Indian sites on the 100 acre estate and guests may follow a self guided tour to any of these. Bordering Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, guests may also want to hike the many red rock canyons located just out their back door. There is also the choice to participate in many of the activities at Kelly Place Retreat, such as horseback riding, archaeology talks/tours, or primitive pottery making. If you wish to explore the region, the Kelly Place Retreat is a perfect base from which to take daily excursions and then return for a relaxing evening and complimentary full breakfast the following morning.
